Revealed: the extortionate costs for renting a sunlounger around the world

How much would you be prepared to spend on a day at the beach? From parasols to sandwiches, the charges for seaside essentials and family entertainment can quickly pile up. 

The most expensive of the world's 30 most popular beaches will set you back up to £340.74 per person, per day, according to new research.

Parasols and sunloungers (often combined in a package deal at overseas beaches) were one of the most extortionate beach costs, based on analysis by parasol supplier, We Are Promotional.

Waikiki beach in Honolulu, Hawaii was the dearest. Parasols and sun loungers were only available as a $50/£41.40 per day combined package. This works out at £5.17 per hour over eight hours.
